Store Shelving Systems Prices
Store shelving prices are not a fixed list; every project is priced by its dimensions, materials and requirements. On this page we explain the factors that determine the price — and how a free site survey gets you a transparent quote.
Store shelving system prices are not an off-the-shelf list price. They are a project-specific price, determined by each store's dimensions, the materials used, the steel thickness, the number of shelving units and the scope of installation. That is why a single figure like "shelving costs this much per meter" will usually mislead you. The right price only emerges once your store has been measured and your needs are clear.
On this page we lay out the pricing factors openly, explain why we give store-specific quotes instead of a flat price list, and show how a free site survey gets you that quote transparently.
Factors That Affect Store Shelving Prices
The price of a store shelving system is not a single line item; it is the sum of several interacting factors. The main ones are:
| Factor | How It Affects the Price |
|---|---|
| Material and steel thickness | The thickness of the sheet steel used (commonly in the 0.5–2 mm range) directly determines the raw material cost. As the steel gets thicker, unit weight and load capacity rise — and so does the cost. Heavy products call for thicker steel. |
| Dimensions and footage | Shelf height, depth and the total linear meters of shelving runs to be installed determine the quantity. The bigger the store, the more material and labor go in. |
| Product type | Different product types — gondola shelving, wall shelving, island units, wire shelving or checkout displays — differ in manufacturing complexity and cost. |
| Sector and display needs | Display layouts vary by sector; pharmacies, footwear, cosmetics and supermarkets each have different shelving, accessory and lighting requirements that affect cost. |
| Quantity | As order quantity grows, unit production cost generally falls; a single unit and a project with hundreds of units are not calculated at the same unit price. |
| Custom production and color | Beyond standard sizes and colors, custom dimensions, brand-specific RAL colors, custom shapes, wood detailing and accessories (label holders, hooks, baskets) push the price up. |
| Installation | On-site assembly and installation labor, floor/access conditions and in-store rearrangement are included in the price. |
| Location | The store's city/district and the shipping distance flow into the price through freight and installation crew planning. |
As you can see, even the "same" shelving can end up at very different cost levels depending on steel thickness, dimensions and custom production choices. That is why an accurate price can only be calculated once these factors are pinned down.
Pricing Factors by Product Type
The cost drivers change with the type of shelving; here is what stands out in each product group:
Gondola Shelving Prices
Three items drive the price of gondola shelving: the number of modules and the run length (how many linear meters of gondola runs will be installed), height and the number of shelf levels (from 120–225 cm; more levels mean more shelf decks and higher cost) and steel thickness (heavy food/detergent categories require thicker steel). A double-sided mid-floor gondola is priced differently from a single-sided wall module.
Wall Shelving Prices
The biggest driver for wall shelving is wall run footage and height; modules that reach the ceiling use more material but deliver higher display capacity per square meter. The second factor is finish and color choice: standard colors and brand-specific RAL colors or wood-grain finishes carry different costs. Illuminated units are priced as a separate line item.
Supermarket Shelving Prices
Supermarket projects are priced on the overall aisle plan, not per shelf: the gondola-to-wall-shelving ratio, checkout-front and promotion units, special sections like produce and deli, and the accessory set (price rails, hooks, baskets, dividers) determine the total cost. On high-quantity projects the unit price drops; you can find the size options on our supermarket gondola systems page.
Why a Project-Specific Quote Instead of a Ready-Made Price List?
At Kare Raf, rather than publishing a single "price list" online, we quote each store individually. The reason is to protect you:
- You avoid misleading list prices. List prices are usually based on the thinnest steel and standard sizes; they rarely match a real store's needs.
- You never overpay. We prevent you from buying thicker steel or extra units you don't need, and plan the most efficient layout for your space and product flow.
- No surprise costs. Installation, freight and accessories — every line item is stated clearly in the quote.
- Right measurements = right price. Once the store is measured on site, the footage is final, so nothing is under- or over-produced.
The Transparent Quote Process with a Free Site Survey
You get an exact, store-specific price in four clear steps — free of charge:
- 1. Free site survey and measurement: Our team visits your store, measures the space on site and listens to how your products flow.
- 2. 3D visualization: Before production, you see your store in 3D and sign off on the shelf layout, dimensions and colors.
- 3. Line-item transparent quote: Materials, dimensions, quantity, accessories, installation and freight are presented separately, in writing.
- 4. Turnkey production and installation: With your approved quote, production and installation are completed from a single source, backed by Kare Raf.
The Kare Raf Difference
Kare Raf has been manufacturing store shelving systems and store designs for 10 years from its base in Ataşehir, Istanbul. Your questions answered
Store shelving has no single fixed price; the price is determined by the store's dimensions, the material and steel thickness used, the number of units, custom production choices and the installation scope. That is why, instead of a flat figure, we prepare a transparent, line-item quote tailored to your store after a free site survey.
The main factors are: material and steel thickness (commonly 0.5–2 mm), shelf dimensions and total footage, product type (gondola, wall shelving, island unit, etc.), sector-specific display needs, order quantity, custom production/color, installation labor and location/freight. As these factors are pinned down, the right price emerges.
Because ready-made list prices are usually based on the thinnest steel and standard sizes, and they don't reflect a real store's needs. To avoid misleading you and to keep you from overpaying, we quote each store individually and transparently after it has been measured.
Yes. Our team visits your store, measures the space on site, listens to your product flow and draws up the shelving layout that suits your needs — the survey and measurement are completely free. Approving the quote is entirely up to you; the survey creates no obligation whatsoever.
Yes — materials, dimensions, quantity, accessories, installation and freight are all listed separately and clearly in our quote; there are no surprise costs. Since we work turnkey, production and installation are completed from a single source, backed by Kare Raf.
